Schlumberger Barium Strontium Sulfate Scale Solvent

The scaling phenomenon of barium sulfate and strontium sulfate has always been a problem that cannot be ignored in oilfield operations. In view of the dilemma that barium and strontium sulfate scale cannot be dissolved by acid or alkali, Schlumberger has developed a special dissolving agent for barium and strontium scale - BaSOL 2000HP. BaSOL 2000HP is a descaling agent that can dissolve barium and strontium scale efficiently and quickly through chelation reaction under the optimized pH value.

By combining a chelating agent and a catalyst, the unique formulation of BaSOL 2000HP is formed. While ensuring rapid onset of action, BaSOL 2000HP has good dissolving ability for barium and strontium sulfate scale, and the dissolving ability of each liter of dissolving agent can reach 80 grams of barium and strontium sulfate scale.

The chelating agent is formulated through a new system, which can quickly separate barium and strontium ions from the dissolved solution, and at the same time form an effective metal chelate, thereby ensuring that barium sulfate and strontium sulfate dissolve effectively and quickly, and will not re-form a precipitate, Ideal solution for barium strontium sulfate scale removal.

Applications

An oilfield faces the challenge of barium sulfate scaling in oil wells. Using the dissolution experiment, it is proved that the dissolving agent BASOL 2000HP has the rapid and obvious dissolving ability of the barium sulfate scale in the oil field.
